| Our School |

Founded in 1947,
East Palmyra Christian School still strives to fulfill
it's mission of "assisting Christian parents to
nurture their sons and daughters in becoming responsible
Christians by providing instruction based upon God's Holy Scriptures as interpreted by the Reformed creeds."
Our 2005-2006 theme,
"Fix
your eyes upon Jesus
...that
Christ may have first place in everything," reflects this endeavor. Our belief is that Christ is Lord over all and
we, as students, teachers, and community members must
reflect this belief. Our world belongs to God. |
| Our Students |
 |
|
Our
students come from homes where parents profess
Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. These parents
are concerned that the education and nurture they
provide for their children be God-centered and
under the direction and guidance of qualified
teachers committed to a Christian perspective of
life and the world. Current students attend
churches from a variety of denominations in
Wayne, Ontario, and Monroe counties.
|
| Our Staff |
|
Our dedicated
teachers are certified and fully competent, having earned
degrees in elementary education, most from Christian
liberal arts colleges such as Calvin College, Dordt
College, and Taylor University. Our faculty is committed
to Christ and to the perspective that all teaching and
learning must be done under His Kingship. |
| Our Educational
Program |
|
East Palmyra
Christian School offers a curriculum in accordance with
New York State educational law. EPCS faculty and
Education Committee are continually involved in the
development of an integrated relevant Christian approach
to teaching. God's order for His world permeates all
instruction and learning. Our well-balanced curriculum
includes reading, language arts, mathematics, science,
social studies, art, music, and physical education. |
|
The EPCS Band
and Chorus perform regularly at a variety of programs
including the annual Christmas program, the Spring
Concert, and at local nursing homes. The annual Young
Artists Festival provides a public forum for the school's
individual artists, musicians, and dancers to display
their talents. EPCS is also a member of the Western New
York Christian Athletic Association (WNYCAA) and
participates with other area Christian schools in Soccer,
Basketball, Volleyball, and Track and Field. Service
projects, field trips, computers, athletic and scholastic
events, and musical programs also enhance student
learning at EPCS. |
| Transportation |
 |
|
School busing is available to all
families through cooperative arrangements of the public school in which
the child resides. Transportation is provided to those families who live
within a fifteen-mile radius of East Palmyra Christian School.
Application for transportation must be made prior to March 25. |
| Finances |
|
A tuition
schedule, based on the proposed operating budget, is
adopted annually by the EPCS Board and EPCS Society. A
substantial percentage of funds for the operation of the
school is raised by the tuition. The remaining funds come
from generous gifts and fund-raisers. |
| Admission |
